She is academically a Graduate in Pure Sciences, a pass out from Calcutta University in the year 1995 and later did her Diploma in Interior Design & Decoration (77%, 1st Div.) from Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, West Bengal in 1997 in which she stood second. She has over 17 years of exhaustive, hands on experience in interiors/ exteriors architectural designing and space planning her project portfolio ranging from individual residences, office buildings, hostels, amusement parks, institutional buildings, housing complexes and integrated residential townships. Besides, by helping in her family business which deal in design and supply of air ducting and purification units for offices, paper mills etc. she picked up entrepreneurial skills. She began her career with a reputed interiors firm in Kolkata where she worked as the whole sole in charge of the design section. She was involved in projects of various natures and sizes both for designing as well as PMC. There she learnt every aspect of the business, including job procurement, client dealing, contractors dealing, site supervision, bill checking etc. She later worked at one of the leading business houses in this arena in Kolkata which gave her ample scope to develop herself as a professionally independent interiors designer, where she learnt various trades of the profession such as 3D Modeling, manual perspective view development, furniture design, Stained Glass painting, Glass etching, and model making etc..

After acquiring sufficient experience as a full-timer, she changed her career track to freelancing and contract jobs. Jaba realized the growing need for a professional organization in Kolkata as a one-stop solution for all architectural/ civil services requirements and with prospect of infrastructure boom in mind, she pooled resources with civil engineers, architects and project management professionals and established GEBAUDE as a Design and Project Management Company in 2008.
